DinnerRoll is a meal planning app designed to work offline-first. Your data stays on your device by default. We collect the minimum information necessary to provide optional cloud features.
The following data is stored locally on your device and never leaves it unless you opt into cloud features:
If you enable Cloud Backup, your meal data is synced to our servers so you can restore it on another device. This data is associated with a randomly generated device ID — not your name, email, or any personal identifier.
If you create or join a Household, your meal data is shared with other members of that household via our servers. Household membership is identified by device IDs and device names you provide. You can leave a household at any time, and household owners can remove members.
When you use the recipe import feature (from URL or image), the URL or image is sent to our server and processed using a third-party AI service (Google Gemini) to extract recipe information. We do not store the URLs or images after processing is complete.
DinnerRoll requests camera access to photograph recipes for AI import. Photo library access uses the system photo picker, which grants one-time access to selected photos only — the app cannot browse your full photo library.
DinnerRoll uses Google Gemini for AI-powered recipe extraction. Submitted URLs and images are processed according to Google's Privacy Policy.
You can delete all your local data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. To remove cloud backup data, contact us at the email below.
DinnerRoll is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
